In 1998 I got the order from the former CEO of KROHNE Messtechnik to create two paintings during a happening. The paintings were designed for Corporate Communication purposes of the Chinese KROHNE Joint Ventures located in Chengde and Shanghai. The preparations were difficult, since it was questionable which topic to take. It should comply with my own artistic intentions as well as with the Chinese culture, which was then completely new to me. But since Chinese painting and philosophy had already fascinated me, I chose the waterfall (Chinese: Pu Bu) and for Shanghai the wind (Chinese: Fung).

To my surprise both topics are until today deep-seated in Chinese cultural symbols.
